Ruins, Pastel on Archival Board

Ruins, Pastel on Archival Board

This is an original pastel of old British church ruins on acid free mat board. I first toned and textured the mat board with a mix of gesso and a red orange acrylic paint. You can see the strong orange color peeking through the pastel, and the texture of the gesso give a nice feel to the pastel application in this panting.

This piece would look wonderful matted and framed and add so much dimension to this work. It would be a wonderful addition to your art collection - and it would make a wonderful gift for the art collector in your life.

The pastel has been sprayed with fixative. These pastels colors have a pumice addition which makes them somewhat loose. All care has been taken to help keep the pastel application from "drifting."
